23 Weeks

Instead of a bump picture, I'm posting our preview pic from our family pictures.  Amanda took a few maternity pictures, so once she gets them edited and sent over - I'll post more.

How far along? 23 weeks - time flies when you're having fun!

Total weight gain/loss: Not sure - didn't weigh myself this week. Can you tell I care a lot less about it this time around??  Honestly, I've barely eaten dinner twice this week and haven't had time for snacks at work because we're so busy - that I can't imagine I've gained much non-baby weight.

Maternity clothes: Ordered a swimsuit online and I look like a blimp.  So I need to find a new one in the next couple of days before we leave for our weekend at a waterpark!

Sleep: When Brody doesn't wake me up in the middle of the night, or when the dogs don't bark because we have our windows open and they heard some random noise - then I actually am sleeping okay.  But that might be because I'm so exhaused for all reasons mentioned above!

Best moment this week: Family pictures.  I never did maternity pictures with Brody and even though that wasn't the purpose of the pictures this week - it was nice to get a couple of Brody laying on my bump.  And in extra cuteness, when Mandi asked Brody to kiss my belly, he wanted to lift up my shirt or "open it" as he said.  Apparently kissing his baby brother through my shirt wasn't good enough for him.
Food cravings: Still eating pop-tarts a lot this week. And thinking about heading back for a doughnut soon...something about sweet breakfast treats really get me craving I guess!

Gender: Boy oh boy.

Labor Signs: Nope

What I miss: So many things.  Really could have used a nice glass of wine last night...

What I am looking forward to: Spending my birthday weekend with my favorite 2.5 boys.

Milestones: Nothing major this week - Jason felt Aedan kick again which I love.  I was sitting across his lap with my big belly against his stomach and Aedan gave him a swift kick.  Clearly Jason was invading his space.

Differences between 1&2:  I never felt overwhelmed by the thought of having Brody.  Scared of labor - yes.  But I always knew that we were ready for a baby and would be a great family.  With Aedan, I'm not scared of physically delivering him, but instead about actually being a mom of 2.  Somedays Brody is a handful by himself, I am overwhelmed by the idea of dealing with a newborn on top of it!  I know it will be perfectly fine, but you know - overly emotional pregnant women can get worked up by this stuff!

Fashion Advice from a 2 Year Old

The perks of a sweet little boy just keep coming...

Last  night, talking to Jason on the phone:
K: Did my package come in the mail today?!?!
J: Yes, I see you got two pairs of shoes.  The white ones are ugly.  (This is what I love most and least about my husband - he holds nothing back)
K: Well, maybe they are, I did pick them out online...I'll look at them when I get home.

Get home & I think they're cute - so I ignore Jason and proceed to wear them this morning.  I walk into Brody's room to wake him up.  Within 30 seconds of being in the room:

B: Mama's shoes are pretty!!
K: (Not sure I heard him right) What did you say sweetie?
B:  Mama - pretty shoes!!

After thanking him for being such a sweet little boy, I quickly yelled downstairs to tell Jason that he's clearly wrong about the shoes.  We'll just ignore the fact that I'm taking fashion advice from a two-year-old!

22 Week Check-In

How far along? 22 weeks

Total weight gain/loss: Not sure - didn't weigh myself this week.
Maternity clothes: Favorite dress pants are from Gap Maternity.  And my favorite tops to wear right now are tank tops.  So I'm looking forward to the 80 degree weather this weekend!  I've pretty much stopped buying maternity clothes for now (so I'll have to settle for shoe shopping instead!) but I'll be picking up a Brewer's maternity shirt in the next week or so for all the games we have coming up between now and September.
Sleep: Jason already hates my pillows and I have 18+ weeks to go.
Best moment this week: Spending Mother's day weekend with my amazing mom, wonderful mother-in-law and loving Nana.  Didn't get a chance to see my awesome step-mom or our other super-sweet grandmothers, but it was a nice weekend overall.  Spent most of Mother's Day outside in the beautiful weather and it was perfect.
Food cravings: S'mores pop-tarts.  I haven't eaten them since college, but already had it for breakfast 3 days this week. Yum!

Gender: Boy oh boy.

Labor Signs: Nope
What I miss: Being heartburn free.  I didn't even know what heartburn was until I was pregnant with Brody.  Ugh.
What I am looking forward to: Decorating the nursery and pulling out all of Brody's baby clothes.

Milestones: Nothing major this week.

Differences between 1 & 2: I didn't mention this last check-in, but Jay was able to feel the baby kick 2 weeks earlier this time!  My absolute favorite thing about pregnancy (and frankly the only thing I love about pregnancy) is feeling the baby kick.  It's amazing to just be going about your day and feel a little rumble (or stab).  It's a nice little reminder of the little man I have in there!  Though every once and awhile when he takes a swift kick in my bladder or later when he'll invade my ribs, I have found myself complaining...but it's all in love.

20-21 Weeks

21 weeks 3 days

We've been busy the past couple weeks, so I'm combining two check-ins in one.
How far along? 20/21 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 7lbs per the doctor's office scale.  That's 4 lbs less than last time I was 21 weeks pregnant, so I am hoping I can keep the trend going.  My goal is to be healthier than the first time around.
Maternity clothes? Lots of them.  Just looking for it to warm up so I can wear the new capris I bought!
Sleep: Let's just say our brand new king-size bed is coming in handy.  Though the multiple pillows don't seem to keep my hips from hurting this time.
Best moment this week: Jason felt Aedan kick for the first time this week!  He's been having a party in my stomach, so it was great for Jay to feel it!  The second best thing the last two weeks is that my morning sickness is finally gone!! It only took 15 weeks to wake up feeling normal, but it's great to finally be there.
Food cravings: I've been craving a doughnut for 2 weeks and finally gave in to it on Friday.  It was delicious!
Gender: Little man
Labor Signs: Other than some braxton hicks, nothing, which is a good thing.
What I miss: Heels, and feeling like a 28 year-old instead of an 80 year-old.  My hips hurt, my back hurts, my knees hurt....
What I am looking forward to: Mother's Day with my boys.  Can't wait until next year when I'm a mom to two little boys.
Milestones: Past the halfway mark!
Differences between 1 & 2:  The amount of focus I give my pregnancy.  Obviously my weekly updates aren't as regular, plus I even forget how far along I am sometimes.  I'm so focused on Brody, that I haven't had as much time to think about the baby on the way.  I know that will change completely once Aedan is born, so I'm trying not to feel guilty about it right now.
